Our producers
The people who make the bottles.
We work with small producers, named by the people who run them. Every name on this page is someone we have met in person, usually more than once.
Distillery + brewery · Amsterdam-Noord, Netherlands · est. 2022
The Cyrus Cellar
Our own production: two copper pot stills, one column still for the vodka, a five-hectolitre brewhouse for the beers. Five people. Tours by appointment on the first Friday of every month.
Saffron co-operative · Khorasan, Iran · est. 1976
Torbat Heydarieh Co-operative
A women-led picking and grading co-operative we have bought from since the first batch. Hand-picked, hand-graded, vacuum-sealed at origin. We visit twice a year.
Vineyard · Geul valley, Limburg, Netherlands · est. 2008
Domein de Geulwijngaard
The vineyard south of Maastricht where our Syrah and Petit Verdot grow. A single grower, four hectares on a south-facing slope. We share the harvest with one other small producer.
Maltster · Roermond, Limburg, Netherlands · est. 1947
Mouterij Vlemmix
A third-generation floor-malting house in Roermond. Source of the Pilsner malt that makes up the base of the Saffron Beer. They malt about 600 tonnes a year — the kind of scale where the maltster knows every farmer.
Letterpress printer · Haarlem, Netherlands · est. 1928
Drukkerij Schoonderbeek
The letterpress shop that prints our labels. Founded in 1928 and still running on its original Heidelberg cylinder press. Every batch label is set, run, and trimmed in Haarlem.
Glass supplier · Schiedam, Netherlands · est. 1827
Verallia Nederland
The Schiedam glassworks that supplies our bottles. We chose a single moulded form across the range so the gift-case packaging is reusable across products. About 40% of every bottle is recycled cullet.
